Portraits

I was fortunate to have a couple of portraits recently recognized by the News Photographers Association of Canada (NPAC). The first portrait was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with Canadian heavyweight boxing legend George Chuvalo – such a lovely man. And, the second portrait was a quick two-minute hotel session with actor Michael Cera.

Here is a link to the rest of NPAC’s nominated Photos of the Year – http://npac.ca/2014/03/2013-national-pictures-of-the-year-nominees/

Canadian boxing-great George Chuvalo poses in the alley formerly known as the "Macaroni Field" on Thursday, April 4, 2013 where he first learned to box as a young boy growing up in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood. The life of addiction and heartache for Chuvalo's family is well documented, but has only now penned by the former heavyweight champ himself through a recently published memoir, "Chuvalo: A Fighter’s Life: The Story of Boxing’s Last Gladiator".
